Yoga Therapy is an approach that considers the vital connection of mind, body, and spirit to heal the whole person. Our bodies are composed of a connected series of systems that are completely integrated and responsive to each other.
Melissa Montilla uses an array of movement, healing, and yoga techniques to create and maintain a foundation for optimal health customized for each client based on the understanding of that integration.
Yoga Therapy begins after an acute phase of injury has subsided or when chronic discomfort persists. It works in conjunction with all other medical care. It is highly successful with physical rehabilitation, but serves to support wellness in many ways! Yoga Therapy is not a cure, but can greatly improve quality of life and give each client the tools they need to minimize reoccurrence.
In its essence, the intention is that each client becomes more able to do all of the things they enjoy with greater ease from running marathons to being able to sit comfortably and spend time with family and friends.
