Wellness Waymaking with Melissa Montilla
Friday, March 24th 6:00 – 8:00pm
Free to the public as a collaboration with 352 Creates!
Wellness is a practice, a process that is dynamic and must be reevaluated frequently. Wellness fluctuates, undulates, and spins in response to our context, our responsibilities and our needs. This is why when we approach it as a linear path the “goal” of wellness can become self-defeating, and often unrealistic. The Wellness Waymaking is a supportive resource that accommodates wellness in all of its variations through a playful process of acknowledgment, movement, inquiry and mapping. Join in and discover how to facilitate your own personal way to wellness in an evening of movement, breath, meditation, and play.
No preregistration necessary. This event is for all ages and abilities.
Gong Bath with Kim Holton
Friday, March 31st
6:00 - 7:00pm / $15
Come immerse yourself in the sounds
of the gong! Gongs have long been used
for their healing energy, as the complex
sounds alter brain waves to promote
deep relaxation. We'll start with basic postures
to prepare the body for stillness then move
into a half hour gong bath meditation while
lying down — a great opportunity
to work on your savasana.
Pranayama: A Workshop for Beautiful Breathing with Ann Gill
Saturday, February 4th 1:00 - 3:00pm
Yoga breathing practices provide a bridge between asana and meditation. As the fourth limb in the eight limbed yoga practice, pranayama channels life force through our bodies like asana and settles our energy like meditation. Come and enjoy the subtle and deepening effects of three practices that awaken internal awareness cultivating more evenness and balance in our lives.

Restorative Yoga Mini Retreat with Melissa Montilla
Sunday, April 30th 2:00 – 4:00 pm / $20
The way we eat, move and approach rest takes on the attitudes of our cultural mores. Rest is often perceived as a sign of weakness or low productivity. In the popular attitude of scarcity there is “never enough” (enough hours in the day, not good enough, creative enough….etc.), and this reflects on language for health: clean eating, primal movement, optimal performance, strong is the new skinny, no pain no gain. Everyone wants to “detox”, but if we are already running low why try to squeeze out more? What if we approached wellness from the foundation up? Wellness requires nourishment and rest is deeply nourishing especially when it is honored as a practice instead of just brought in for emergencies. A practice of rest becomes that foundation.
Renew, release, and practice kindness toward yourself with an afternoon of
deep restorative yoga.
