Teacher Training

Sanctuary Teacher Training Open House
Wednesday, July 27th 6:00 - 8:00 pm / Free class!

Yoga teacher training is a tremendous commitment of time and energy. It is important to us that each student registered is at ease with this process, and has an opportunity to explore and experience our approach to practice and teaching. We would like to invite you to join us for an evening of practice and discussion on the upcoming Sanctuary Yoga Teacher Training.

Please R.S.V.P. melissa@yogagainesville.com

Teaching is a journey of continual learning. In October 2011, Sanctuary will be starting a new 9 month Teacher Training program. Join us for an integrative approach to understanding teaching methodology, anatomy, kinesiology, and alignment; with great respect for both eastern and western philosophies. As well as in depth explorations of class sequencing, teaching methodology, sutras, Ayurveda, restorative yoga, yin yoga, prenatal yoga, ethics, and business of yoga. This program is designed for serious students, or those on the path to becoming a yoga teacher.

Sanctuary Yoga Teacher Training is firmly rooted in the teaching styles of Ashtanga and Iyengar, with an additional emphasis on the balancing practices of Restorative and Yin Yoga. We like to call this style Yoga Practice. It is simply a way to teach people the practice that can support health and happiness in the rest of their lives. In the process of learning to teach, each teacher training student will be encouraged to develop a deep understanding and respect for the human body and spirit, as well as learning intuitive ways to help themselves and their students progress.

The training groups are small for a stronger
community connection and plenty of one on one time with Faculty,
and the 9 month format is designed so each student can
take time building their practice, absorbing knowledge,
understanding teaching methodology, and developing
critical thinking skills to guide a lifetime of practice.
