Evan Sundgren, D.C.

Evan Sundgren holds a Bachelor of Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic. He graduated second in his class Summa Cum Laude. He has passed all four exams of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, has passed the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine licensing exam, and holds a Florida Chiropractic Physician license.

Evan started practicing in Florida as an associate doctor at Clay Chiropractic Clinic in Orange Park, Florida. He then practiced throughout the state of Florida as a locum tenens practitioner covering the practices of other doctors. Upon moving to Gainesville Evan taught anatomy and physiology to pre-nursing and pre-technical program students at Santa Fe Community College. After initially developing his private practice model in Gainesville as a traveling service, Evan located his practice at Sanctuary Yoga and Meditation Center.

As a practicing doctor of chiropractic, Evan provides professional health care counseling for individuals on how to incorporate a healthier diet into their current lifestyle, how to use nutritional supplements to build better health, and when and how to use herbal medicines. He also provides manual therapy, physical therapy, and at home therapy to reduce stress and pain and to build better health in the human body frame. His manual therapy can best be described as a type of ‘slow and perceptive’ force. In providing manual, physical, and home therapies, his primary goal is realignment of the body frame while using either mobilization or stabilization of joints, muscles, and/or connective tissue as indicated by clinical exam. All treatments provided, from nutritional to manual care, are customized to each patient’s individual needs.

Evan also provides workshops for groups on a variety of health care topics at Sanctuary and at other locations throughout Alachua County. Current and future workshop topics may include building better health in specific organ systems like the cardiovascular or respiratory system; understanding more about and tasting specialty health foods, nutritional supplements, and herbal products; and reviewing and building better understanding of health care specialties like chiropractic. Additionally, each workshop is recorded and placed on CDs in MP3 format so that individuals may enjoy the workshops at their own convenience.

Lastly, Evan produces the Sun Health Newsletter that contains updates on his practice, listings of practice events and workshops, spotlights on his favorite Gainesville businesses and events, tips on healthy living, and discounts for upcoming workshops and practice promotions.
