David N. Bole, Ph.D., A.P
David
N. Bole, Ph.D., A.P. is the director of the Traditional Acupuncture
Center in Gainesville, Florida. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy
from the department of Psychology at the University of Florida.
He continued his post-graduate studies in acupuncture at the
College of Traditional Acupuncture in Oxford, England. He has
also studied acupuncture and herbal medicine in China and Japan
and has completed two postgraduate degrees. He is currently
licensed as an Acupuncture Physician (A.P.) in the state of
Florida. In addition he has been awarded both a Diplomate in
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the Commission for the
Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Bole
specializes in a painless, non-invasive style of Traditional
Five Element Japanese Meridian Therapy called Toyohari. He is
a Toyohari teacher and served as the Academic Dean of the Florida
branch to the Toyohari Association in Japan. Dr. Bole has also
dedicated himself to the study of martial arts and Chi Kung.
He teaches Tai Chi and offers workshops designed to enhance
health and awareness.
Dr. Bole is also a former Tibetan Buddhist monk and has completed
the traditional Karma Kagyu Buddhist three-year retreat under
the guidance of his renowned master, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche.
As a westerner trained in this ancient Buddhist lineage he is
able to bridge the gap between eastern and western philosophical
approaches to health, healing and meditation. He is currently
serving as the resident Lama for the Gainesville Karma Thegsum
Choling (KTC), a center for Buddhist studies and meditation.
Dr.
Bole has been a practicing A.P. for the past 25 years and was
Gainesville's first Acupuncture Physician.
