Betsy brings the influences of many teachers and movement styles to her teaching of Vinyasa yoga. Her teacher training began with Tias Little of Santa Fe, New Mexico, who blends a precise, anatomically based style of yoga with a mystical approach to experiencing asana practice. Other teachers whose influences are incorporated into these classes are Johnny Kest (Vinyasa Yoga), Sarah Powers (Yin Yoga), and numerous great Iyengar teachers. Betsy’s classes mix a detail-oriented alignment focus with movement-oriented flow sequences. Each practice includes a dynamic flow sequence to build strength in the body and capacity in the breath, long asana holds that rejuvenate the body and allow time for inner focus and contemplation, plus an opportunity to practice meditation, pranayama, and guided relaxation.
